RIDERS:
Please obey all traffic rules, officials and marshals.
NO HELMET. NO RIDE!
STARTING TIME is 07:00 exactly on both days. Day 1 - At the entrance gate of De Hoek. Day 2 - at the 1st campsite (Race Village).
NO SECONDING VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED.
Some bends along the route are extremely sharp and hidden, serious injury will result if you go over the edge. Look out for dangerous hidden bends.
Make sure that your bicycle is in good order, especially the brakes!
The first 200 cyclists (on day one) will be seeded for the start of day two in the Hell. Everyone else to line-up behind these seeding blocks, PLEASE, adhere to this !!
All finishers will receive a medal and a certificate will be provided on request.
There will be four water points on each day and ample water along the way. The water points are ± 20km, 37km, 52km and 60km from the start on day one and on day two 12km, 23km, 40km and 60km from the start. Water in the streams are drinkable.
Please ensure that your luggage is on the correct luggage truck (in De Hoek campsite) by 6:15. It WILL BE LEAVING at 6:15 sharp on both days !!. Trucks will be marked according to race numbers !!
Cyclists with numbers 1 - 299 to camp at 1st Camp Site (Race Village)and to place luggage on the “1st CAMP” luggage trucks. Please limit luggage to the minimum !!
Race Village will provide a tent and matress (included in entry fee) to each rider entering for this option in the Hell.
Cyclists with numbers 300 onwards to camp at 2nd Camp Site or Houses and to place luggage on the “2nd CAMP” luggage trucks. Please limit luggage to the minimum !!
Participants making use of the luggage trucks must ensure that their equipment are well marked and packed in a dust free, waterproof container such as a black bag.
Sweep vehicles will be available to act as pick-up vehicle for those that are forced to withdraw. Motorcyclists (medics, & mechanics) are available to assist with emergencies.
Be sure to take in enough liquids before, during and after the tour.
The finish (1st day) is on a steep down hill, so please be careful !!.
Prize giving will take place at De Hoek Holiday Resort on Sunday at 13:00 at the finish line (in case of rain it will be in the hall).
Unfortunately it will be unavoidable to prevent certain official vehicles to pass cyclists - please bear with it. This will be limited as far as possible.
There will be a Fuel Zone in the Hell where participants can enjoy food and beverages.
The event is taking place in a Nature Reserve – PLEASE DO NOT LITTER – anyone observed littering will be disqualified and banned from future races. Large items such as tubes can be left in the road to be collected by sweep vehicle other items must be taken out.
Normal Nature Conservation rules and regulations apply.

MOTORISTS:
Vehicle access to Gamkaskloof is limited to house/cottage bookings only and controlled by Cape Nature! Ensure that you obtain your permit at registration and that the permit token is displayed in the window at all times.
NO SECONDING WILL BE ALLOWED ALONG THE ROUTE. This will lead to disqualification !!.
Drivers of vehicles must leave before the cyclists to be able to see the finish. NO UNOFFICIAL VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED BETWEEN CYCLISTS! RIDERS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED !!
Vehicles will be required to leave no later than 06:30 on each day. Vehicles leaving later than this will be kept behind the cyclists & Sweep Vehicle!!.
PLEASE MAKE WAY FOR OFFICIAL VEHICLES !!! Ignoring official & emergency vehicles may lead to disqualification of your rider(s) !!!.
Cyclists will have the right of way during the tour!!
Please limit traffic in Gamkaskloof (The Hell) to the minimum as it generates a lot of dust !!.
NON-CYCLISTS ON ADVENTURE RACE:
Non cyclists must enter/register with their accompanying rider on the entry form and pay the entry fee according to the payment guidelines.
Non cyclists can enter for either the race village or private accommodations options.
Non cyclists must make use of transport provided.
NO PRIVATE VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED INTO GAMKASKLOOF (THE HELL)! Only Non-Cyclists making use of private house/cottage accommodation in The Hell will be allowed to take a vehicle in. Private vehicles must leave the start on each day 30mins ahead of the cyclists.
PROVIDED TRANSPORT DEPARTURE TIME is 7:00 exactly on both days from the starting line.
Transporting vehicles will travel with and in between cyclists.
Stops will be made at certain vantage points and water tables along the route.
Registered non-Cyclists must display their name badge/tag at all times.
Registered non-cyclists will qualify to make use of all amenities and refreshments along the route and facilities in Gamkaskloof.

GENERAL:
Fire wood will be for sale in Gamkaskloof.
A tent, braai place, ablution facilities and a friendly atmosphere will be provided.
A first aid, physios, and Fuel Zone will also be situated at the 1st camp ground (Race Village) in the Hell.
Please DO NOT CAMP ALONG THE RIVER IN THE HELL!!
Use water sparingly.
Normal Nature Conservation regulations apply and personnel will be present to control.
Lost items must be claimed within one week after the event.
WORKSHOPS will be available in The HELL – Both Camp Sites
Only between 14:00 – 16:00 on Saturday
